This manganese-bearing halite specimen from Bleicherode, paired with golden gypsum crystals, delivers a stunning UV fluorescence resembling a fiery explosion, sourced from the now-filled Crystal Chamber at 700m depth.

The Bleicherode potash and salt mine, established in 1899 after potash discoveries in 1888, became a key site during World War II for underground relocation of V2 rocket production from Peenemünde following Allied bombings. While primary V2 assembly occurred in the nearby Kohnstein tunnels under Mittelwerk GmbH using KZ Mittelbau-Dora inmates, Bleicherode’s deep caverns stored treasures and supported armaments via forced labor, with post war Soviet seizure of specialists advancing their rocket program. Its role highlights the Nazis’ desperate underground industrialization amid total war.

Manganese impurities in the halite cause intense red-orange fluorescence under UV light, enhanced by the honey-colored gypsum crystals on a halite matrix, making these rare plates from the sealed Crystal Chamber collector favorites.

In crystal healing, manganese bearing halite (or similar mangano varieties) promotes emotional release, clears psychic blockages, and aids meditation by connecting to spirit guides and ancient wisdom.

It supports heart chakra balance, reduces anxiety, fosters self-love and forgiveness, and may aid physical issues like stress relief or mineral absorption, though these are metaphysical beliefs. Paired with gypsum’s purifying energy, it’s valued for spiritual clarity and UV revealed inner fire.
